I’ll probably be blogging mostly in English from now on, I guess it makes more sense. I have yet to figure out how to install the english language pack for Dotclear, though.
The first video of RockSolid Rally (previously Rubber) was quite well received and a couple of guys at Creative Patterns proposed their help with designing the game mechanics.
So Etienne, Noël, Rosalie and I spent a few hours two weeks ago discussing what makes the core of RockSolid Rally. It was quite a productive time and we managed to settle the different levels of gameplay (long-term, mid-term and short-term objectives). The game will probably feature building smashing of some kind, destructible vehicles and a vehicle upgrade store.
Below is a video of the menus. I’m quite pleased with how they turned out.
I’ve also got around to contacting some font authors and got their permission for using their fonts in the game. Yay!
I’ve been thinking about buying myself a keyboard and start writing music for some time now. Recently I asked David Soltany (which made some amazing pieces of music for a bunch of Creative Patterns’s games, like MiniTURN) for some buying advice and since then I’ve been trying to get to a music store in Strasbourg but they’ve kept on closing early every time I went there.
